PROJECT DESCRIPTION

RWD designed the renovation of a beloved Lakewood, WA park, enhancing its functionality and accessibility. Improvements include a refreshed beach area, accessible pathways, a new picnic shelter, playground expansion, plaza, and six-stall restroom. The plaza features a distinctive arched concrete pattern with colored sections, while a permeable paver system along the waterfront creates an inviting entrance and meets stormwater requirements. Additional seating surrounds the playground, and the accessible merry-go-round has quickly become a favorite. Since reopening in August 2025, the park has been consistently full of activity.
